| Apple Inc producing Macintosh notebook computers presents the MacBook. It entered the market in 2006 and promptly replaced the iBook as well as the 12" PowerBook series of laptops as a part of the Apple Intel transition. It is believed to be the best-selling Mac notebook computer in history. There have been three separate versions of the MacBook: the original model uses a polycarbonate case that was modeled after the iBook G4. The second version - the 15" MacBook Pro - was introduced in 2008. It used a unibody aluminum casing and was upgraded and re-branded as the 13" MacBook Pro in June 2009. The third design presented in October 2009 introduced a unibody polycarbonate shell known as MC240LL/A. It supplanted both the iBook and the 12-inch PowerBook. Being Apple's cheapest product, the white MacBook is popular on the education market and with consumers looking for a low price Mac experience. It has sub-$1, 000 price tag and features the same white polycarbonate shell. The updates have led not only to a more efficaciously operating entry-level MacBook, but also to a system that is quicker than the 2. 0GHz aluminum unibody MacBook that Apple sells for $200 more. The new notebook computer uses the older polycarbonate casing, has the older mini-DVI port and is the only current MacBook to include FireWire. Additionally, there are two USB 2.0 ports, an integrated iSight camera over the screen. Networking options include 802. 11g Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. Operation A number of trials have proved that the new computer to be around 6.5% quicker than the 2GHz white MacBook it has replaced. Cinema 4D is approximately 5% faster on the new white MacBook. Battery life The White 13-inch MacBook is said to operate for about three and a half hours, which is around half an hour more than previous model. So, if you would like to purchase an affordable MacBook notebook computer, the white MacBook is the best bargain because of its great functioning, laptop battery life, FireWire included and more common mini-DVI connectors. |
