| The soaring rivalry and a major breakthrough in IT have made marketers pay attention to effectiveness and proficiency of all work processes. As a result, there have been launched different programs that can ease companies' work. Microsoft Word is one of the most frequently deployed file formats. It is a word processing application which is intended for creation of documents, for example CV, letters, fax cover sheets, checklists, legal documents, brochures, manuals and more. It is an efficient application for students, business owners and even individuals to have got on their computers. The Word was released by Microsoft Ltd. Its original name was Multi-Tool Word. The first version was presented in the 1980s. Since then, there have appeared several other versions, including of the latest version introduced in 2008. The next version of Word is thought to come to the market sometime in 2010. It will consist of a lot of new features typical of other programs in the Office 2010. Microsoft Word 2010 will have new WordArt styles and effects superseding the old ones. Although Word is a constituent of the Microsoft Office system, it sells as a standalone application and included in Microsoft Works Suite. Starting from the 2003 addition, the branding was altered to underline Word's identity as a constituent within the Office Suite. Microsoft Ltd. Renamed Microsoft Word into Microsoft Office Word. Microsoft Word allows to type, format and modify text to be printed out or viewed electronically. Microsoft Word is an affordable word processing programme. The application offers a great number of tools and features, and a great many users are familiar and widely deploy Microsoft toolbars. The Word file format offers tools to format fonts, add page numbers and clipart, and create tables and headers. Microsoft Word's formats are denoted either by a. doc or. docx file extension. The newer ".docx" extension signifies the Office Open XML international standard for Office documents and is used by Word 2007 for Windows, Word 2008 for the Macintosh. |
