| Radiant heating is becoming more and more popular nowadays. It is a tool of heating a room by warming some of its surfaces such as walls or a floor. The old method of warming was equipped with radiators that were situated in the corners of the room. But the difficulty with this means was that to heat the whole room they needed to get very hot, and if a person touched them by accident he could get burned. One more disadvantage of this technique was that they heated the room non-evenly, mostly the space around them when at the same time in the opposite corner of the room it was much colder. The contemporary system of radiant heating is totally different due to utilizing broad surfaces. The principle of operation of procedure is based on thermal radiation and is similar to the previous systems. Temperature and heating radiation are properties of any item. The ability of objects to take up heat from contiguous structures makes it possible to use heating radiation of the floor to warm your feet, for instance. Another way of heating is known as forced air technique. Its purpose is to blow heated air into the rooms. The minus of this system is that forced air warms particles of different origin: dust, mold and others, so this system can not be applied in the houses where people with allergies live. What is more, hot air has just local action, it doesn't heat the room. As regards radiant heating system, it is constructed to let the heat rise uniformly from the floor, in this way, the room is heated evenly and supports the temperature during longer period of time. The radiant heating system is highly efficient in large houses. Forced air system works for small houses, but remember about allergy problems. Make sure your home is insulated, so the heat won't be lost through windows chinks or ceiling. There are three kinds of radiant heating: electric system based on electric cables, air system based on the application of hot air under the floor, and hydronics founded on the application of hot water under the floor. Warming tools are numerous and it is up to you to decide which one is right for you. But as the practice indicates the most effective way to warm a house is radiant heating. |
