| The female climax has been a very disputable issue even among experts. The following questions commonly arise: What does the climax feel like? Does every woman climax? Why it takes women longer to climax? etc. Orgasm from the physiological perspective When a woman has been excited, her heart rate and breathing speed up. Her breasts get larger, the nipples get firm and the areolas enlarge. Some females blush scarlet on their face, neck and/or chest. The visible part of the clitoris gets larger, too. The flow of blood to the genitalia makes the vagina become longer and wider, the labia get flat and open. These alterations in the sexual organs are known as engorgement and bring about the pleasant warmth in the genitalia. If the stimulation goes on, the alterations become acuter. Yet, the clitoris, instead of keeping enlarging, disappear into the clitoral hood and reduces in size by half. This signals that a woman will get climax very soon. The climax starts with intense contractions in the outer vagina, the uterus and the anus and can either continue for a couple of seconds or up to fifteen seconds. There can be 3 - 5 muscle contractions or provided an orgasm is powerful – more than 10. Besides, the two-thirds of the inner vagina opens up wider. Muscle contractions may occur not only in the genitals but all over the entire body, too. Some females emit fluid during orgasm. At the culmination the whole body may also get rigid. Receptors engaged Although the entire body is effected during the culmination, the principal organ abounding in nerve endings is the clitoris. The stimulation of this very small organ is the key to women's orgasm. So, if the clitoris is neglected during sex, a female is very unlikely to experience sexual gratification. The thing is that the vagina contains an insignificant number of nerve endings. In fact, the deeper inside you penetrate, the fewer nerve endings are there. The clitoris can be stimulated either directly or indirectly. The indirect stimulation can take place when the male pubic bone applies pressure on the clitoris while the male thrusts or when the penis rubs against the outer genitalia which are placed near the clitoris and, therefore, during the rubbing will head the nerve impulse to the sensual zone. Nonetheless, statistics say that only 30 – 40 females out of 100 orgasm in the face-to-face position in which the clitoris is aroused indirectly. So, the “cowboy” position with a woman on top of a partner which allows a male to reach the clitoris with ease and stimulate it directly – by fingers – will be far more effective in bringing a female to orgasm. Or a female can stimulate the sensual area herself in the “doggy” position. |
